The first dedicated Douglas DC-9 freighter in South Africa has just been registered.

The aircraft is a 1969-built  DC9-33F, ZS-DBH,  of Stars Away Aviation, and arrived on the 11th January 2007  registered N931AX.  Originally it was originally HB-IFW of Swissair before it became N931AX of Airborne Express.  It was to have been sold to a Pakistani company AST Pakistan Airways, but the deal fell through.

At present it is receiving maintenance attention at Cape Aero Service.

At the freight area of Cape Town International Airport several  cargo aircraft are present, which operate overnight flights between Cape Town and Johannesburg.
